FL3XX Crew App Reaches 4.5 Stars on the App Store

Reliability, user-driven development, and product focus have transformed the FL3XX Crew App into a trusted daily tool for professional flight crews.

We're delighted to say that the FL3XX Crew App has reached a 4.5-star rating on the App Store!

FL3XX Crew App Ratings App Store

In business aviation, that kind of rating reflects consistent performance in real operational environments. Crews rely on the app during long duty days, across time zones, and often under pressure. A strong rating signals reliability built over time.

Three years ago, the picture looked very different.

“We had daily issues, constant high-priority tickets, and a backlog of around 40 major bugs,” says Ricardo Santana, Product Owner of FL3XX Mobile Apps. “It felt endless.”

Today, the app is stable, widely used, and positively reviewed. That transformation can be traced back to four core principles that shaped the team’s approach.

So what brought the Crew App to this point? Ricardo gave us the answers.

1. Consistent work

There was no single breakthrough moment. Progress came from sustained focus and disciplined execution.

“We put in consistent hard work, tracked every detail, stayed focused, and showed real resilience,” Ricardo explains.

Stability became the priority. Issues were resolved at the root, not just managed. Over time, incremental improvements built a dependable foundation.

2. Clear ownership

A major shift came when technical ownership became clearly defined.

“With the expertise and execution added by Pavel (Pakalnis, Lead iOS Developer who joined in 2023), we went from around 40 open bugs to basically zero critical bugs in recent months,” Ricardo says.

Clear accountability allowed the team to move from reacting to problems toward maintaining long-term stability.

3. Deliberate choices

The team also became highly selective about what to build.

“We made conscious choices to only build features that clearly help the majority of crews,” Ricardo explains. “We avoided releasing anything that wasn’t proven to work perfectly and deliver real value.”

Reliability was prioritized over speed. That discipline protected the progress already made.

4. Direct crew feedback

The product is shaped directly by the people who use it.

“We collect feedback constantly through multiple channels, including Upvoty. We review the most-voted items, turn them into clear development tasks, prioritize them, and implement them.”

This direct feedback loop ensures development reflects real operational needs.

The result: Stability that builds trust

For Ricardo, the most meaningful outcome is simple.

“The app is reliable now. Crews use it as a dependable daily tool. We get positive reviews and comments, and complaints are rare.”

Trust develops through everyday use.

“When the app works consistently every time they open it, in the hotel, in the air, or at five in the morning in a taxi to the airport, crews know they can count on it.”

The 4.5-star rating reflects that accumulated trust.

What it means for operators and flight departments

For operators and corporate flight departments, this milestone signals product maturity.

“It shows we’ve reached a new level of maturity,” Ricardo says. “The Crew App is stable, well-reviewed, and truly trusted by professionals who depend on it daily.”

In practical terms, that means fewer disruptions, more predictable workflows, and tools crews can rely on without hesitation. It also reflects how FL3XX approaches product development: prioritizing quality, listening to users, and improving systems that operate in demanding environments.

The work continues.

“We’re improving the chat feature to make crew communication more efficient,” Ricardo says. “At the same time, we’re making the app more dynamic, giving crew members greater ability to update and manage information directly on the go.”
