Paolo Sommariva on AI and the Future of Business Aviation at MACE 2025

FL3XX co-founder & CEO Paolo Sommariva joins MACE 2025 to discuss how AI is shaping aviation. Discover FL3XX’s practical, connected approach to intelligent automation.

We’re pleased to announce that Paolo Sommariva, Co-Founder and CEO of FL3XX, will be speaking at this year’s Malta Aviation Conference and Expo (MACE 2025).

Paolo will join the panel "Is AI a Challenge or an Opportunity" on Wednesday, October 29th at 12:00 to lend his insights on the future of AI in aviation.

AI in Aviation - Beyond the Buzzwords

Artificial Intelligence is transforming the aviation industry, but not always in the ways the headlines suggest. While many companies position AI as a new feature or bolt-on capability, FL3XX takes a different view.

For us, AI isn’t an addition - it’s foundational.

Our platform is built around intelligent connections: between workflows, data, partners, and people. AI enhances those connections, enabling smoother coordination, faster decision-making, and greater operational reliability across every level of a flight operation.

The FL3XX Approach to AI

At FL3XX, we see AI working in three dimensions: for ourselves, our partners, and our customers.

As Paolo explains:

“At FL3XX, we build intelligent assistants that streamline daily work for our own teams, enhance data quality with our partners, and empower our users through automation. The real value of AI is in removing the burden of compliance from operations.

Our goal is for every operating team to work freely, knowing that safety, legality, and efficiency are continuously safeguarded by the system. AI flags potential issues, prevents regulatory drift, and follows through on routine, logic-based decisions, leaving the human operator to focus on judgment, creativity, and customer service.”

This philosophy drives every part of our platform - from automating back-office tasks to enhancing data accuracy and ensuring regulatory compliance - all without forcing users to "turn on" AI as a separate feature.

Why It Matters

As AI continues to evolve, the aviation industry faces a clear choice: treat it as a passing trend, or embrace it as an integral force reshaping how operations function.

FL3XX’s approach is rooted in practicality and trust. We don’t use AI to replace expertise - we use it to amplify human capability, reduce risk, and ensure the right decisions happen faster and more consistently.

Paolo will explore these themes during the MACE 2025 panel, alongside other leaders in aviation technology and innovation.
