Emission Dashboard in BRIGHT

Monitor ReFuelEU fuel requirements and uplift, review airport and flight data, and export reports with BRIGHT’s Emission Dashboard.

The Emission Dashboard is a ready-made BRIGHT dashboard for monitoring emissions-related regulatory data from your FL3XX flights. It currently covers ReFuelEU Aviation (Regulation (EU) 2023/2405). You do not need to build anything: open it, set your filters, and review your airports and flights. If you want to build your own analyses, see ReFuelEU Fields in BRIGHT.

1. Availability

🔍  Where can you find the dashboard?

Reports > BRIGHT > Emission Dashboard

The dashboard is available on the EU instance for operators who have the ReFuelEU extra fuel fields enabled.

💡 Tip

You can enable the ReFuelEU extra fuel fields in Settings > Fuel Settings >  "Enable Post Flight Extra Fuel Fields".

Open BRIGHT in the FL3XX web app and select the Emission Dashboard. If you don't see it, contact FL3XX Support.

2. Before you start

The dashboard shows what is recorded in FL3XX. For each departure from a Union airport, make sure that:

  • The planned fuel (taxi and trip fuel, at a minimum) is recorded on the flight, either entered or imported from your flight planning tool.
  • The actual fuel uplift is recorded in the post flight fuel panel.

Flights without these records still count as flights, but they show empty or zero values.

💡 Tip

3. ReFuelEU Aviation

The ReFuelEU section has two tabs:

  • Airports

  • Flights

Use Airports to see where you stand at each airport, and Flights to see the flights behind each number.

3.1 Controls
Control What it does Default
Take Off (Act) Date range of the flights 1 Jan 2026 to today
Union Airport Flag Whether to include Union airports only Yes
Departure Airport (ICAO) Enter an ICAO code to focus on one airport. The code is case-sensitive, so use capitals. Empty (all airports)
Workflow Flight workflow type CHARTER

💡 Tip

The Airports tab follows your filters. To see the yearly position, set the Take Off range to the full calendar year, for example 1 January to 31 December.

3.2 Airports tab

Each row represents one departure airport.

Column What it shows
Name, ICAO The airport name and ICAO code
Total Flights Number of flights
Total Flight Hours Block hours in decimal form
Yearly Aviation Fuel Required (t) Taxi fuel plus trip fuel of the flights, in tonnes
Yearly Actual Aviation Fuel Uplifted (t) Actual Fuel Uplift of the flights, in tonnes. It includes the fuel uplifted on arrival by the preceding flight at the same airport.
Yearly non-tanked Quantity (t) Required fuel minus the fuel uplifted, in tonnes
Yearly Tanked Quantity for Fuel Safety Rules (t) The net quantity of safety fuel carried that can be justified, in tonnes. This value is 0 when the uplift for the selected flights reaches 90% of the required fuel. Below that, it is the net sum of the safety fuel contributions of those flights, which can be positive or negative.
Refuelled % Actual Fuel Uplift divided by required fuel, multiplied by 100

💡 Tip

The regulation expects at least 90% of the required fuel to be uplifted at each Union airport over the year. The Refuelled % shows you where you stand against this threshold. Review airports that fall below it, and open their flights to find out why.

3.3 Flights tab

Each row represents one flight, with the columns grouped as follows.

Group
Columns
Identification
  • Serial No.,

  • Unique ID,

  • Previous Flight's Unique ID,

  • Tail,

  • Aircraft Type,

  • Flight Number,

  • Booking ID,

  • Flight Type,

  • Log #

Times and route
  • Off-Block,
  • Take Off,
  • Landing,
  • On-Block,
  • Block Time,
  • Flight Time,
  • Departure and arrival airport, and
  • Departure and arrival country

Fuel

  • Taxi and Trip Fuel,
  • Volume,
  • Density,
  • Actual Fuel Uplift,
  • Contingency,
  • Alternate,
  • Final Reserve,
  • Additional,
  • Discretionary and Extra Fuel,
  • Fuel Other Safety Rules, and
  • Fuel Off-Block and On-Block

🗒️ Note that...

  • Fuel values are shown in tonnes where indicated in the column name. Volume is in litres and density in kg/L.

  • The tab follows the structure of the EASA Fuel Monitoring Tool, so you can export it as a starting point.

  • Unique ID and Previous Flight's Unique ID are intentionally left empty. Complete them in the tool as required.

  • The preceding flight is the previous flight of the same aircraft that landed at the departure airport of the current flight. If there is no match, the fields remain empty.

  • Serial No. numbers the flights you currently see by actual take-off, newest first (1 is the latest take-off). It is recalculated whenever you change the filters, so it is not a permanent flight ID.

3.4 How the values are calculated
  • Required fuel = taxi fuel + trip fuel

  • Actual Fuel Uplift = the fuel uplifted at departure + the fuel uplifted on arrival by the preceding flight at the same Union airport.

  • Fuel is converted to tonnes from the unit entered on the flight. If no density is recorded, 0.803 kg/L is used.

  • Only departures from Union airports are included when the Union Airport Flag is set to "Yes".

💡 Tip

For more details on each field, visit ReFuelEU Fields in BRIGHT.

4. Exporting

Each table can be exported as a CSV or Excel file. The Airports and Flights tables must be exported separately, as the dashboard does not offer a combined export.

5. FAQ

Why does an airport show required fuel but no uplift?
Fuel uplift records are missing for its flights. Complete them in the post flight fuel panel.

Why is Refuelled % empty?
There is no required fuel for the selected flights.

Why is the safety fuel value negative?
It is a net figure. A negative value means that, across the selected flights, the departures planned more safety fuel than the inbound flights brought in, after taking the fuel left over on the inbound flights into account.

Why does my Airports total change when I filter?
The Airports tab counts only the selected flights. Widen the date range and clear the airport filter for the full position.

Why does the dashboard show a different uplift than the value I entered in the post flight?
If you overwrote the Actual Fuel Uplift total manually, BRIGHT currently shows the calculated value, not your manual one. The calculated value is the departure uplift plus the arrival uplift of the preceding flight at the same Union airport.

⚠️ Important

FL3XX BRIGHT helps you monitor and prepare ReFuelEU information. It does not determine whether your operation is in scope, and it does not replace your own monitoring methodology, independent verification, or official submission. These remain the operator's responsibility.

The operator is also responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the data entered in FL3XX and for the figures reported.

BRIGHT calculates values from that data as described in this article, so the results may differ from your fuel receipts, supplier documents or the competent authority's interpretation of the regulation. The regulation and official guidance may change, so please check the current text of Regulation (EU) 2023/2405 and agree on your methodology with your verifier.

Results also depend on your FL3XX configuration and on how completely your flights are recorded.
