Sales App - Timeline View on iPhone and iPad
A guide to understanding and utilizing the Timeline View on iOS devices, now available on both iPhones and iPads.
Introduction to Timeline View for iOS Devices
The Timeline View, a key feature in the FL3XX Sales app, enhances scheduling and operational visibility by providing a dynamic, interactive layout. Previously available only on iPhones in landscape mode, the Timeline View is now supported on iPads, delivering a seamless and consistent experience across all iOS devices.
Please note: The current timeline displays data using UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).
Important notice: The Timeline View loads data for a rolling window of two days before and two days after the currently displayed date range. When using the Week view, you may need to scroll or navigate forward to access the complete week’s schedule.
Timeline Features
Users can now enjoy the Timeline View on iPhones and iPads with the following features:
- Landscape Support: When the device is rotated to landscape mode, the Timeline View is displayed for the Sales app on iPads and iPhones.
- Aircraft and Flight Display: The Timeline View displays all aircraft and corresponding flights. Users can switch between Day and Week views for different levels of detail.
- Flight Details: Clicking on a flight opens a detailed view showing the basic itinerary and includes a Close button to exit the flight view. You can tap on all event types (notes, maintenance, etc.) and in a popup window we will show you the basic details.
- Focused Aircraft View: If the user is working on a specific booking or quote, turning the iPad to landscape mode will display only the Aircraft that you have in the booking on the Timeline View. Users can then toggle the Show All option to see all aircraft.
- Optimized Layout for Larger Screens: The interface has been tailored to leverage the iPad’s larger screen, ensuring a clear, professional layout without compromising usability.
- Smooth Touch Interactions: Gesture support and touch responsiveness have been enhanced for the iPad experience, ensuring ease of navigation and control.
How to Access the Timeline View on iPads
- Open the FL3XX Sales App on your iPad.
- Switch to Landscape Mode by rotating your device. The Timeline View will automatically display, offering an expanded, easy-to-navigate interface.
- Upon returning to Portrait Mode, the interface will revert to the quote screen, maintaining a smooth transition between views.
- Utilize familiar gestures, such as scrolling vertically and horizontally (click and drag), to navigate and interact seamlessly with the Timeline View.
- In the top left corner, you can select your desired date, with the option to view either a single day or an entire week. To quickly return to the current date, simply tap the "Today" button.
Enhanced Flight Information
The Timeline View now provides comprehensive flight details through an enriched popup interface:Crew Information:
- Flight Crew: PIC (Pilot in Command) and SIC (Second in Command)
- Cabin Crew: Complete cabin crew assignments
- Additional Crew: Any supplementary crew members
Time Data:
- Planned vs. Actual Times: Both departure and arrival times with delay/early calculations
- Local Time Display: Local times shown alongside UTC for better clarity
Operational Details:
- Workflow Type: Workflow classification (Owner Private, Charter, Private)
- Customer Information: Customer name and account details
- Flight and Booking Number: Quick reference to flight and booking identifiers
- Passenger Configuration: Passenger count
Timeline Navigation and Interaction
Date Selection:
- Quick Navigation: "Today" button for instant return to current date
- Calendar Interface: Tap the date selector in the top-left corner to access a calendar day selection
- Done Button: Confirm date selection with integrated Done button
- View Options: Choose between single day or full week display

Show All: When accessing the timeline from a quote, the view initially displays only the aircraft associated with that quote. To display the full fleet, simply tap the "Show All" button.
Gesture Controls:
- Scrolling: Vertical and horizontal navigation through click and drag
- Touch Responsiveness: Enhanced gesture support optimized for iPad experience
- Smooth Transitions: Fluid animations for modal appearances and dismissals
Notes and Events Management
Display Structure:
- Primary View: Maximum of 3 activities displayed per time slot/day
- Event Types: Tap on all event types including notes, maintenance, and other operational items
- Basic Details: Popup windows show essential information for each event
Overflow Management:
- Overflow Indicator: "Show x more" indicator appears when additional notes exist beyond display limit
- Visual Design: Distinct but consistent indicator positioned below the last visible note
- Expansion Access: Tappable indicator triggers detailed view
Bottom Sheet Interface:
- Slide-Up Display: Bottom sheet slides from screen bottom when overflow indicator is tapped
- Contextual Header: Date and aircraft display for reference
- Complete List: Scrollable view of all notes for selected day/time
- Chronological Order: Notes ordered by starting time (oldest to newest)
- Note Selection: Tap any note to open detailed view or edit popup
Dismissal Options:
- Swipe Gesture: Downward swipe to close bottom sheet
- Outside Tap: Tap outside sheet area to dismiss
- Intuitive Controls: Multiple dismissal methods for user convenience
