At FL3XX, onboarding is more than just a setup; it is about ensuring your operation is fully supported from day one. A key part of this is data migration, which is included as part of your onboarding journey at no additional cost.

Whether you're moving from spreadsheets, a legacy scheduling tool, or another aviation software platform, we support you with a structured and transparent data migration process.

In most cases, standard data sets can be imported quickly and efficiently using our internal tools. However, if a request exceeds the scope of standard onboarding (for example, due to highly customized data formats or non-standard source systems), it may be treated as custom development.

How It Works: A Structured & Transparent Process

We approach data migration with the same principles that guide our product: efficiency, accuracy, and long-term value.

1. Submit a Clear Overview

Start by providing a detailed summary of your current data and systems:

  • What platform(s) are you migrating from?
  • What types of data are included? (e.g., aircraft, crew, flights, training, maintenance)
  • In what format is the data available?
  • Are there any time constraints or regulatory drivers?
This allows us to assess the best approach and clarify whether the request falls within standard onboarding.

2. Assessment & Migration Plan

Our onboarding team will review your data and define the migration plan:

  • Field mapping to FL3XX
  • Cleansing or formatting needs
  • Import strategy using FL3XX tools
  • Estimated onboarding timeline

This process is included in your onboarding at no additional charge, provided the data is clean, structured, and within our standard migration scope.

3. Out-of-Scope = Custom Development

If your migration involves:

  • Data from unsupported or legacy platforms
  • Complex transformation or scripting
  • Unstructured data formats (e.g., PDFs, scanned documents)
  • Third-party API integrations

...we’ll assess it as custom development, and provide:

  • A Statement of Work (SoW)
  • Draft migration solution and deliverables
  • Estimated effort (in development days)
  • Pricing based on our standard custom development rates
  • Delivery timeline
Custom work is only initiated with your approval and formal sign-off.

4. Delivery & Validation

Once your data is imported:

  • You’ll have time to review and confirm data accuracy
  • Any corrections within scope will be addressed at no extra cost
  • Once validated, your system is ready for go-live
For complex/custom migrations, the same review window and acceptance terms apply as for development projects.
