Aircraft Maintenance Status Calculation

Learn how the flight by flight maintenance status calculation works in Dispatch

The maintenance events list in the Aircraft Module shows the remaining hours, cycles, or days for each line item. In the Flight Strip, accessible in Dispatch and Timeline, it is possible to see a forecast of the time remaining at the time of the scheduled flight.

The calculation is based on the actual schedule of the aircraft and we take into consideration the:

  • Estimated flight times
  • Estimated cycles (landings)
  • The calendar days between flights

Note that the times in the maintenance events list for each aircraft derive from the last closed/completed (OK/green) Post Flight/Journey Log. It is important that post flights are closed in a timely manner to preserve the integrity of your data. It is also strongly recommended to enable the setting "Check Previous Flights In Post Flight," which checks if previous flights are all closed before setting a post flight to OK.

When insufficient hours, cycles, or days remain for a flight, we warn you by setting the overall status of the aircraft to RED and the maintenance status as RED. It is possible to acknowledge the status in the flight strip to make it green/OK, but that acknowledgment does not change the hours, cycles, or days actually remaining, which must be managed in the aircraft module with appropriate access rights.
